On the first evening of our Tibor Szőke season pass series, we welcome back to stage the world-famous pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja, who was born in the Soviet Union but has been living in Vienna for decades. This time, she will take to the podium with the Junior Prima Prize-winning pianist Mihály Berecz. Roughly a 100 years passed between Mozart and Richard Strauss, but Strauss wanted to be Mozart's spiritual heir for the rest of his life. One of the most exciting pieces in his oeuvre is a symphonic poem inspired not by a literary work or person but by one of the great philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's most important works. Róbert Farkas, who is now beginning his fourth season as the chief conductor of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, prudently plans and executes the expansion of the orchestra's – and his own – repertoire.
