2019-ben lesz 45 éve, hogy Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro megérkezett Magyarországra, és azóta megkerülhetetlen résztvevője a magyar zenei életnek. Népszerűsége töretlen, pedig azóta már felnőtt a magyar zeneszerető közönség három generációja is. A Magyar Televízió első nemzetközi karmesterversenyének első díját nyerte meg, jól esik leírni azt is, hogy Medveczky Ádám lett a második helyezett. Időközben hosszú ideig volt a Magyar Állami Hangversenyzenekar főzeneigazgatója, és jóleső érzéssel írjuk le újra és újra azt is, hogy több éve a MÁV Szimfonikusok tiszteletbeli vendégkarmestere. Ezzel a címmel azt fejezzük ki, hogy a mi zenekarunkhoz különlegesen szoros és szívélyes baráti szálak fűzik. Több alkalommal elmondta nyilvánosság előtt is, hogy a MÁV Szimfonikus Zenekar volt az első zenekar, amelyet hazáján kívül vezényelt (a karmesterverseny első fordulójában) és az akkor szerzett jó benyomás megalapozta egész zenei és emberi közérzetét. Idei hangversenyünkön bemutatkozik zeneszerzőként is. Érdekes lesz hallani alkotását, saját zenei anyanyelvét, miután azt már jól ismerjük, milyen rendkívüli alázattal és beleérző képességgel tolmácsolja más zeneszerzők alkotásait. Külön öröm, hogy ezen az estén saját műve után a három legnagyobb magyar zeneszerző egy-egy alkotását hallhatjuk előadásában.

Special Concert for celebrating
the 150 years old official diplomatic ties
between Japan and Hungary

It will be 45 years ago in 2019 that Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro arrived at Hungary. Since then he has been an essential part of the music circles in this country. His popularity has not diminished over time even though the third generation of music fans has grown up already. The Hungarian audience got acquainted with him through the screen as a contestant in the first international conductor competition of the Hungarian State Television. After he had been announced the winner, with the second prize taken by Ádám Medveczky, another still very popular conductor, the Hungarian audience became attached to him forever. Years later he served for long as the principal music director of the Hungarian State Philharmonic Orchestra, and it is our honor to announce over and over again that he has been the honorary guest conductor of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra for several years. This title is to acknowledge the particularly strong and cordial ties between him and our orchestra, which began to form when – as he spoke about this publicly several times – he conducted the MÁV Symphony Orchestra as the first orchestra outside his country in the first round of the competition. This experience profoundly impressed him determining his affection to the country. He came to this concert with a surprise: the audience will have the chance to get to know him as a composer. Witnessing his musical language in this performance is going to be a treat, as we all know very well what his interpretation of other composers’ works is like. That the works of the three greatest Hungarian composers will be performed after his composition is going to be the frosting on the cake.
