About the show

Pál Németh, flautist and conductor, is one of Hungary’s pioneers in the historically informed performance of Baroque music. He founded Capella Savaria, the country’s first orchestra to perform on period instruments, and taught at the Secondary School of Music in Szombathely from 1975 to 2000. His achievements have earned him international recognition as well as numerous prestigious Hungarian state honours. Drawing on his extensive expertise in historically informed performance, he also brings fresh insight to collaborations with modern symphony orchestras.

The programme offers a splendid survey of the Baroque repertoire, featuring a Bach cantata for two vocal soloists alongside two of the period’s best-loved orchestral masterpieces: Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 and Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks.
