CONDUCTOR
Gábor Takács-Nagy
"Vengerov's technical prowess cannot be praised enough, and his playing is driven by boundless passion," wrote the London Times a few years ago in praise of the Russian-born violinist, who returns to our orchestra time and again. This time, he will perform Jean Sibelius's brilliant Violin Concerto, one of the most original and brilliant concertos in music literature, which, like the symphonic poem Finlandia, evokes the cold and majestic northern landscape. Under the baton of the energetic and unique conductor Gábor Takács-Nagy, the evening will also begin with a Scandinavian classic, Grieg's Symphonic Dances.
