The playful lightness of Joseph Haydn's compositions makes them a great introduction to the world of classical music. Piano Concerto No. 11 in D major is mostly famous for its Hungarian (all'Ungarese) rondo, which is also a testament to the influence of Mozart. The soloist in the concerto will be the young Domonkos Váray, who knows our ensemble quiet well already, since his father, Péter Váray, is a cellist in the MÁV Symphony Orchestra. The identity of the composer of the Toy Symphony remains unclear; some believe it was composed by Leopold Mozart, others are convinced it is a piece from Angerer, a Benedictine monk. Its peculiarity is that besides conventional musical instruments, its performance requires a series of toy instruments, including a rattle, toy trumpet, drum, triangle, and bird calls.
