The cheerfulness and harmony of the Classical era permeate this concert, where we will also hear contredanses—a popular dance form of rural origin that influenced operatic insertions and minuets of the period. Alongside these, two larger-scale compositions are also featured.
Joseph Haydn’s Violin Concerto in G major—one of his three surviving violin concertos—captivates listeners with its elegance and clarity, while Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony in A major was written at just eighteen years of age and is therefore considered an early milestone in his career.
The soloist of the concert is Orsolya Korcsolán, a passionate rediscoverer of forgotten masterpieces, distinguished by her sensitive and dramatic performance style. The orchestra is conducted by her son, Nátán Sugár, a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and a pupil of the world-renowned Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
