About the show

The colourful and captivating world of French music leaves no listener untouched. Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite is a work of exquisite charm and refinement, whose delicate orchestral colours and memorable melodies evoke the enchanting atmosphere of timeless fairy tales.

Composed during the vibrant decades of the Belle Époque, Camille Saint-Saëns’s Violin Concerto No. 3 is a work of elegance, brilliance, and dazzling virtuosity. The soloist is Kirill Troussov, one of the leading stars of the international concert stage.

The second half of the programme features Saint-Saëns’s monumental Symphony No. 3, the celebrated "Organ" Symphony, a work the composer himself regarded as his greatest achievement. In this magnificent score, the splendour of the orchestra is enriched by the majestic sonority of the organ.

The concert is conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy, Principal Guest Conductor of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra. Internationally renowned first as a violinist, he has become one of today's most distinguished interpreters of the orchestral repertoire.
